LEGO Classic is the theme closest to what many people picture when they think of LEGO: boxes of mixed bricks in many colours, with no single model on the front. Instead, each set includes a booklet of suggested builds, from small animals and vehicles to houses, and leaves the rest to the builder. The target audience is primarily children from pre-school age upwards, but the sets are also useful for adults who want a stock of basic parts, windows, wheels and eyes for their own projects.

The range is split between general brick boxes and themed creative boxes. The largest set in Brickheist's catalogue is Creative Vehicles (11036), followed by Creative Colorful Bricks (11045) and the long-running LEGO Large Creative Brick Box (10698), which comes in a storage tub and has been a staple for many years. The newest additions include Creative Build-and-Play Box (11044) and Cool Creative Box (11043). Piece counts in the larger boxes are high relative to their size, since most parts are standard bricks and plates.

Classic is one of the deepest-discounted themes we track. Almost every set in our Danish catalogue is on offer somewhere, and the average discount among them is close to forty per cent, the highest of any theme in this group. Recommended prices are low across the board. Classic sets have no collector value to speak of after retirement; their worth lies entirely in the parts and in play, and new boxes with similar contents replace old ones.

Classic is the theme where price per piece matters most, so compare the large boxes on that basis. Offers appear throughout the year, not only in the Christmas season, so there is no need to buy at full price. If you are buying for a young child, a storage box is practical, while those building their own models should favour boxes with more varied special parts over sheer brick count.
