About LEGO Minifigures
The Collectible Minifigures series is LEGO's long-running blind-purchase line: each wave contains a set number of different characters, sold one per sealed box, with accessories and printing that often exceed what appears in regular sets. Some waves are generic mixes of occupations and fantasy figures, while others are licensed, such as the Shrek Series (71053). Since LEGO replaced foil bags with cardboard boxes, feeling for a specific figure is no longer practical. This group also includes the Up-Scaled Minifigures, oversized brick-built display versions of the classic figure.
The Up-Scaled models are the largest items here: Up-Scaled Red Minifigure (40868), Up-Scaled Blue Astronaut Minifigure (40921) and Up-Scaled Racing Driver Minifigure (40819). They are designed for display and articulate like a real minifigure.
Discounts are rare in this theme. Only a small share of what we track is on offer, with reductions around a quarter when they appear. Single blind boxes are cheap enough that shops rarely compete on price; the real variable is buying a full case versus single boxes. One item is already retired. Complete series and popular licensed figures have historically held value well, while common figures from generic waves trade for little.
