How are LEGO categories chosen?
Categories are hand-curated by us. Where a LEGO theme groups sets by The LEGO Group's official product line, a category groups sets by topic — regardless of theme. A Botanicals bouquet, a Friends advent calendar and a Star Wars holiday set all live happily in our "Christmas" category, even though they're three different themes.
We focus categories on Danish gift-giving moments and the topics shoppers actually search for. New categories appear when there's a clear seasonal or topical demand; existing ones stay open year-round.
Themes vs. categories — what's the difference?
A LEGO set has exactly one theme (its official product line) but can belong to several categories (gift, holiday, subject). Use themes when you want to browse a building style or storyline; use categories when you're shopping for an occasion. Prices on both pages update daily from the same 13 Danish retailers.
