LEGO Friends

About LEGO Friends

Friends is set in the fictional Heartlake City and follows a group of friends through everyday life: homes, cafés, schools, vets, hotels and holidays. The sets use mini-dolls rather than classic minifigures, and the build style emphasises bright colours, interior detail and small accessories. It is aimed mainly at children from around six, but the larger buildings have gained a following among adult builders who like the interiors and the colour palette.

In recent years the theme was relaunched with a new and more diverse cast of characters, and the current range in our catalogue reflects that newer generation. Sets range from small animal and hobby builds to large multi-storey buildings. Andrea's Modern Mansion (42639) is the largest at 2,275 pieces, followed by Heartlake City Apartments and Stores (42670) and the Garden Restaurant (42691). Newer releases such as the Heartlake City Grand Hotel (42704) and the Cozy Fall Forest Cabin (42705) continue the pattern, and an advent calendar arrives every autumn.

Friends is among the most consistently discounted themes on Brickheist. Nearly every set we track is available below recommended retail, and typical discounts are over a third, the deepest of the mainstream play themes. The large production volumes mean retired Friends sets seldom gain value, although some of the bigger buildings are sought after by adult fans who use them in city layouts.

For children's gifts, patience usually pays, as prices fall steadily in the months after launch and again during seasonal sales. The larger buildings typically offer better value per piece than the small sets, which carry a higher share of animals and accessories. Remember that mini-dolls are a different scale from minifigures, so Friends sets mix best with other Friends sets rather than with City.
