About LEGO KPop Demon Hunters
KPop Demon Hunters is the animated film from Sony Pictures Animation that became a major hit on Netflix, following a K-pop girl group who secretly fight demons. Its mix of music, action and very merchandisable side characters made a LEGO licence an obvious move, and the theme is aimed at both younger fans and teenagers who know the soundtrack by heart.
Brickheist currently tracks one set. Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird (72537, 825 pieces) recreates the film's goofy tiger and its hat-wearing magpie companion as brick-built display figures. It is a character model rather than a play set, and a sensible starting point for a licence where the side characters have become as recognisable as the leads.
As a single, new set, the data is thin. It is, however, already discounted at the retailers we follow, by more than a third, which is unusually early for a new licence.
