About LEGO City

City is LEGO's long-running theme about ordinary town life: police stations, fire engines, construction sites, ferries, farms and trains. It is designed first for children from around five upwards, which shows in the build style. Sets are quick to assemble, use large functional parts, and are made to be played with and combined into a growing town rather than displayed. Minifigures lean towards everyday professions, and recent waves have broadened the cast considerably.

Each year brings new police and fire sub-lines alongside rotating themes such as space exploration, arctic expeditions and construction. The largest current set in our catalogue is The City Tower (60473) at 1,941 pieces, a stacked building that works as a hub for other sets. Trains are the part of City that adult fans follow most closely: the Explorers' Arctic Polar Express Train (60470), the Police Train Heist (60508), the Vintage Steam Train (60511) and the Harbor Freight Train with Crane and Truck (60509) are compatible with LEGO's powered track system. The Mountain Bike Adventure Van (60512) represents the steady stream of smaller vehicle sets.

City is one of the most heavily discounted themes Brickheist follows. Nearly every set is available below recommended retail at some point, and typical discounts are around a third. Most sets are produced in very large volumes, so retirement rarely creates meaningful collector value. Trains, larger buildings and the occasional modular-style set are the exceptions, as they appeal to adult builders and are often used for layouts.

The practical advice is simple: City should almost never be bought at full price. Toy retailers and supermarkets run frequent promotions, and prices tend to drop further in the months after a wave launches. If you are building a town, look at price per piece on the larger sets, which usually beats the small vehicle sets. For trains, check whether motors and remote are included before comparing prices.
