About LEGO Jurassic World™

LEGO Jurassic World is built around the film franchise, and its signature feature is the dinosaurs themselves. In the play sets they are large moulded figures with movable jaws and limbs, which children can use straight out of the box, while the surrounding builds are vehicles, research stations and enclosures designed to be broken open and chased through. Alongside these, LEGO has added adult-oriented display sets that treat the subject more like a museum piece, with brick-built skeletons and detailed film vehicles.

The biggest set in Brickheist's catalogue is Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex (76968), a large skeleton with a display stand. It has since been joined by Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops (77985) and the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler (77984), a detailed replica of the film's tour vehicle. Among the play sets, the newest include Mosasaurus Dinosaur Boat Attack (77983). Most of the range sits in the small and mid-sized bracket, where the value is largely in the dinosaur figures.

Jurassic World is discounted fairly consistently. Nearly every set we track in Denmark is on offer somewhere, with an average saving of just over a quarter off recommended price. The recommended price range is wide, stretching from small play sets to the large fossil skeleton. A couple of sets have already retired. On the secondary market, sets with new or rare dinosaur moulds have historically been the ones that held their value best, while vehicle-heavy play sets are rarely in short supply.

When choosing a play set, look first at which dinosaurs are included, since they carry most of the play value and resale interest. Mid-sized sets with a large dinosaur usually give the best balance. For the adult display models, prices tend to settle after the launch period, so patience is rewarded, and comparing retailers can make a noticeable difference on the fossil sets.
