About LEGO Marvel

The Marvel theme brings the comic and film universe into LEGO form, with the Avengers, Spider-Man, the X-Men and a long list of heroes and villains. Much of its appeal lies in the minifigures, which are printed in detail and often appear in only one or two sets. The range stretches from simple builds for pre-schoolers through vehicle and mech sets for older children to large, detailed models for adults, and the same characters show up at every level.

Sub-formats include battle scenes, mechs, buildable figures, helmets and small figure packs. At the top end, the Avengers Tower (76269) is the largest set in our catalogue at 5,201 pieces, with a large cast of minifigures, followed by X-Men: The X-Mansion (76294) and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier (76354). The newest wave is tied to Avengers: Doomsday, with sets such as the New Avengers Tower (76352) and the Epic Battle set (76348), and film-linked waves like this tend to dominate the release calendar around major premieres.

Discounts are frequent: almost all Marvel sets Brickheist tracks are available below recommended retail, with typical reductions of around a third. Film tie-in sets are often reduced early, especially once the film has left cinemas. On the secondary market, value tends to follow minifigures. Sets with unique or well-printed characters, and large flagship models with big casts, hold their value best after retirement; mechs and small vehicle sets rarely do.

If you collect characters, work out which set offers the figure you want at the lowest price, as the same hero can appear in several sets at very different price points. Small figure packs and battle sets usually give the best value per minifigure. For large display pieces, compare retailers carefully and watch seasonal sales, where the flagships are most likely to see a meaningful reduction.
